A "Miraculous Recovery" at Best Buy

In the store on a Saturday and couldn't get any of the 20 something clerks to help us.  Seems they were too busy chatting each
other up to help two 50 someting customers.  Several walked by and ignored us as well as many other customers. We
mentioned it to the "package checker" when we left empty handed.  Had to go back alone later in the week as I was still
shopping for the same items.  This time a clerk immediately offered to help me.  Since I knew more about the products I wanted
then she did, she called for help.  The second clerk was extremely knowledgeable and really put together the package I needed.
What started out to be not such good service during our first trip ended up being great service on the next trip.- Sandy,

Best Treatment At Best Buy

We were at a Best Buy store looking for a new computer early on a Saturday afternoon.  It was pretty busy and we couldn't
seem to get anyone to come and help us.  I felt like it was because we are older and we weren't dressed in the latest cool
clothes.

Just then someone was paying for something with a lot of greenbacks at a register near us in the middle of the store, so a
manager (a guy in his late 20's or early 30s) had to come over and count it.  When he was done he started walking away but his
eye caught my eye looking at him.  He stopped dead in his tracks and asked if we needed some help.  He was great.  Real
friendly and helpful.

When he walked away from us for a minute to get us some paperwork, we had three salespeople buzz around us asking if we
needed any help... I guess they saw the manager taking care of us and figured that maybe they should be more attentive to
folks like us!  We ended up buying $1,400 worth of computer hardware and software - from the General Manager of the store!

I say they get a pat on the back for doing something right - even if it didn't start out too good, it ended up OK. - Larry, Delafield,

Great Service At Home Depot

I was at a Home Depot Store to get metal shelving racks.  The boxes were much too heavy for me to load on the cart.  A woman
employee saw me standing there and offered to load up my cart and have someone load the shelving units into my vehicle.  She
was really great!  I felt like I was treated very respectfully - you know - I'm a 56 year old man now and they didn't make me feel
funny at all because maybe I am not as strong as I used to be.  I will always go back there now that I know that they will be so
helpful and courteous.  - Jim, Waukesha, WI
Kudos For Menards

I was at a Menards store (building materials) looking for a bag of mortar for my son-in-law's chimney repair project.  When I
walked in I was asked if I needed help by a 30-something man who directed me to the right area.  When I got there a female
employee (early 40s) even lifted that heavy bag for me on the shopping cart.  I think they were "boomer friendly".

By the way, I think this is cool.  I really like the positive spin of this site.  - Matt, Milwaukee, WI

Courteous Treatment At Pick 'n Save Grocery

Two weeks ago I saw a teenage stock boy take it upon himself to help a baby boomer woman who was having a bit of a hard
time reaching all the way to the back of a top shelf in an upright freezer case.  He didn't have to do that .  He could have
pretended he didn't see her.  I think that at least makes him, if not the whole store, nice to boomers.  - Bill, Oconomowoc, WI
